ZPC Kariba stay atop

HARARE - ZPC KARIBA remained in pole position in the Zifa Northern Region division one league despite being held to a two-all draw by Commando Bullets on Wednesday.

The log leaders failed to collect maximum points that could have seen them stretching their lead to three points.

“I am not happy with the draw we should have killed off the game in the first half but we missed several scoring chances,” ZPC coach Jostein Mathuthu told the Daily News.

“I liked the performance, but we haven't got the result we should have got. We did well in the second half and managed to get a point, but I'm not satisfied with that.”

Flame Lilly moved to second place after beating Lack Harvest 2-1. They are now tied on 22 points with DStv Rangers and Mushowani Stars, but the Zimbabwe Prison Services side has a superior goal difference.

DC Academy maintained their unbeaten run after being held to a two-all draw by former Premiership side Gunners. DC Academy and DStv are the only teams yet to taste defeat in the current campaign.

Results: Jumbo 2 Blue Rangers 0, DC Academy 2 Gunners 2, JMC 0 Power Master 0, Forrester 1 Flame Lilly 5, Lake Harvest 1 Twalumba 2, Commando 2 ZPC Kariba 2, Dstv Rangers 2 Mushowani 2, Starbill 2 Banket 1.
