ZC announce India tour itinerary

HARARE - Zimbabwe Cricket on Thursday revealed the itinerary for for next month’s tour by India.

The Indians will tour Zimbabwe for a series of five ODIs starting July 24 and ending on August 3.

The first three one-dayers will be played in Harare, with the last two in Bulawayo. India had confirmed their tour following a BCCI working committee meeting earlier this month. The trip had earlier been put on hold, with the board citing the “fatigue factor.” It is uncertain at this stage if the selectors will stick to a full-strength squad.

When India last came to Zimbabwe, in 2010, Suresh Raina captained a young side, and didn't make it to the final of the one-day tri-series, which also involved Sri Lanka.

Zimbabwe won their last ODI series 2-1 against Bangladesh in March at home and will be looking to take some momentum into the India matches following their success against the Tigers.

Their new coach, former national team player Andy Waller, will be taking charge of the team for the first time.

Meanwhile, India will most likely rest its top stars for the tour, just like they did back in 2010.
