Ex-minister Chindori-Chininga killed in car crash

HARARE - Ex-Mines  minister Edward Chindori-Chininga has died in a car crash at Shinje turn-off in Guruve.

This comes as the Guruve South MP was involved in another deadly crash last year and in which one person died, and seven others were injured along the Centenary-Mazowe road.

As the Mines parliamentary committee chairman, Chindori-Chininga had turned out to be a vocal critic of government's handling of the Chiadzwa diamond mining ventures, among other issues affecting the key sector.

In particular, he was concerned about how some concessions were parceled out and were being managed, especially in terms of remittances to the Treasury.

A Zanu PF moderate, Chindori-Chininga was also critical of the implemantation of the indigenisation policy.

Curiously, his death comes after an internet troll calling him or herself Baba Jukwa had said months ago that he was "marked" for death. - Staff Writer
