DJ Munya further remanded to August 16

HARARE - Munyaradzi Milimo, aka DJ Munya, and his two accomplices were yesterday remanded to August 16 pending their indictment at the High Court.

Milimo, 32, Taurai Janhi, 34 and Mohammed Matare, 31 had appeared before magistrate Don Ndirowei for their routine remand hearing.

Janhi and Matare, who were granted bail on Tuesday, appeared in court dressed in prison garb.

Their lawyers said they had failed to have them released on Tuesday after they had been granted bail.

The trio were eventually freed on $300 bail each.

DJ Munya is alleged to have demanded $5 000 in adultery damages from Magorimbo after discovering the man was having a secret affair with his wife in February this year.

It is alleged that Milimo approached his wife’s lover in a bid to be compensated for the adulterous affair.

Allegations are that Magorimbo made a part payment of $1 000 through Janhi and Matare leaving a balance which was to be paid in instalments. But after the initial payment he became evasive.

In May, Milimo, it is claimed, engaged the services of Janhi and Matare to deal with Magorimbo for the full payment of the amount he was demanding.

The now deceased was abducted and dumped near his home on May 18  naked with both hands tied with a blue shoe-lace.

He was staggering and unable to speak, resulting in him collapsing, before being rushed to the West End’s intensive care unit, where he died.

A post-mortem conducted on May 21 revealed that the cause of death was poisoning. - Helen Kadirire
