Nyoni brace sinks Shabanie

HARARE - Innocent Nyoni struck a first half brace as Black Mambas ended Shabanie Mine’s mini-revival with a 2-0 defeat in a dull Castle Premiership match at Morris Depot Wednesday.

Black Mambas started strongly and were duly rewarded in in the 35th minute after Nyoni headed in Tsepo Rantokoane’s cross.

The home side did not release their foot off the pedal as they kept on pressing forward and on many occasions Shabanie were rescued by their goalkeeper Victor Twaliki, who made a number of crucial saves to keep the Zvishavane side in the game.

There was, however, nothing Twaliki could do to stop Nyoni from completing his brace a minute from the halftime break.

Honey Chimutimunzeve whipped in a pin-point cross which found unmarked Nyoni inside the box to tap home with a header.

After the breather, Shabanie Mine controlled the game but they found the defence, well-marshalled by Ben Nyahunzvi, in no mood for favours.

Meanwhile, at Kadoma’s Rimuka Stadium, Tripple B and Black Rhinos drew nil all.
