Dynamos fans to get first feel of Adidas replicas

HARARE - Dynamos fans will get their first chance to buy the club’s Adidas replica jersey this weekend when the Harare giants clash with Monomotapa in a friendly at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday.

DeMbare, together with Bulawayo giants Highlanders, last month clinched a kit endorsement deal with the Germany sportswear brand.

Adidas will supply kit, equipment and replica jerseys for resale for both clubs for two seasons, which is a first for local teams.

The Glamour Boys received the first consignment of their equipment from Adidas this week and the replicas will be going for $50 each.

Due to the on-going 2014 World Cup qualifiers, the Castle Premiership has taken a two-week break to pave way for Zimbabwe’s international commitments.

Both clubs will be using Saturday’s friendly to keep in shape ahead of the resumption of league action in midweek.

Entry charges for the game have been set at $2 for a Rest of the Ground ticket while entry to the West Stand and the VIP will cost $3.

Dynamos will travel to Mutare to face struggling army side Buffaloes at Sakubva Stadium when the league resumes.

The reigning league champions have recovered to move to second place on the log after an indifferent start to the 2013 season.

Calisto Pasuwa’s men are now just four points behind leaders Highlanders after 13 matches.

Monomotapa have had mixed fortunes thus far in the league. Biggie Zuze’s men have won four, drew four and lost five of their 13 matches.

That form has seen the 2008 Zimbabwe champions occupy 10th place on the log, just four points ahead of the last relegation place. - Sports Writer
