Tuskers' women get sponsorship

BULAWAYO - Matebeleland Tuskers’ representatives in the national women cricket team got a shot in the arm when they were handed over training kit by their franchise on Monday.

The franchise’s area manager Vumi Moyo handed over bats, helmets, batting pads and thigh guards to Thandolwenkosi Mlilo, Tasmeen Granger, Lorraine Tshuma and Atida Sibanda at a function that was held at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.

Missing from the presentation ceremony was Sharne Mayers.

Moyo said the equipment was part of the sponsorship package that they received from Marange Resources and some would be given to schools and clubs in the city and its environs.

The national women’s team is preparing for the ICC Women’s Twenty20 World Cup qualifiers which will get underway in Ireland from July 23 and finish on July 31.
