ZPC Kariba lead in Northern Region

HARARE - ZPC Kariba moved to the top of the Zifa Northern Region division one league after beating JMC Academy 4-0 over the weekend.

The Kariba-based side took advantage of Commando Bullets’ slump.  The Harare-based soldiers were held to a 2-2 draw against Starbill.

The win means Kariba are now tied on 19 points with Commando but they have a superior goal difference.

Competition remains stiff in the league and it is promising to be a closely contested affair as all the top eight teams are in the reckoning for promotion into the top fight.

Meanwhile, former Premiership champions Gunners beat Banket 1-0 to remain in ninth place.

Seasoned campaigners DStv Rangers played a goalless draw against ZRP Morris and were pushed to third on the log table with 18 points.

Newton Katehwe’s DC Academy moved to fourth place on the table with 18 points after dismissing Twalumba 1-0.

Newly-promoted Mushowani are also on 18 points and they beat Lake Harvest 3-0 at the weekend.

JMC remain at the bottom of the log with four points.
