Chilumba linked to Dynamos

HARARE - FC Platinum coach Tenant Chilumba has been linked with a move back to his native Zambia to fill in the vacant post at Power Dynamos.

Chilumba joined Platinum at the start of the year from Hwange and enjoyed a brief good spell with the Zvishavane-based side.

However the platinum miners have gone on a bad spell recently that has seen them fail to win in their last five matches.

Platinum are currently fifth on the Castle Premiership log with 22 points, seven behind leaders Highlanders who are coached by his compatriot, Kelvin Kaindu.

According to the Times of Zambia, Chilumba together with Nchanga Rangers coach Fighton Simukonda are some of the names being considered to replace Beston Chambeshi, who was dismissed by Dynamos at the weekend.

"They want to interview TC (Tenant Chilumba). He is currently driving back to Zambia through Livingstone," a source told paper this week.

Chilumba played for Power in the 1995 and 1996 seasons.

According to the publication, Dynamos are also considering Simukonda, but his contractual obligations with the Chingola-based club could be a stumbling block.

Previously Chilumba coached Prison Leopards and Kabwe Warriors in his homeland. - Sports Writer
