Black Boots keep up pressure

BULAWAYO - Police outfit Black Boots kept the pressure on Southern Region division one log leaders Bulawayo Chiefs after their impressive 3-0 drubbing of newcomers Ajax Hotspurs at the weekend.

Black Boots, who are now on 21 points from 10 games, scored through Tinashe “T-Boy” Dube, Tashinga Mungadze and Leeroy Ndlovu.

Pacesetters Chiefs beat basement side Mpumalanga 1-0 away in Hwange on Saturday to maintain a six point lead over their nearest rivals.

George Majika was on target for the Thulani Sibanda coached Chiefs. Lizwe Sweswe’s Tsholotsho moved up to sixth position after a 3-0 home victory over Rufaro Rovers.

Ocean Ncube scored a hat-trick to take Iziqholo Zezhwane to 16 points from 10 games.

“I am glad that we have finally turned the corner after an indifferent start to the season and hopefully we will realize our target to finish in the top four,” Sweswe said.
