Father strangles daughter, burns remains

HARARE - A Harare man who allegedly killed his daughter before burning the remains has been locked in remand prison.

Patrick Mabvira yesterday approached the High Court for the second time seeking to be freed on bail after his earlier application in September last year was turned down.

High Court Judge Felistas Chatukuta yesterday ruled that there were no changed circumstances in Mabvira’s case to warrant bail.

The 32-year-old man is accused of strangling the child, burning the remains and dumping them in a rocky area in Harare’s Epworth suburb.

He allegedly told his friend about the murder whom he took to the area where he had dumped the body. - Tendai Kamhungira
