Zim for Care Homes World Cup

HARARE - Kutting Edge Sport Consultancy, organisers of Celebrate The Children Sports and Arts Festival,  have been invited for the inaugural World Cup for Children from Care Homes to be hosted by Poland next month.

The sport consultancy successfully hosted the festival last year that was attended by nine children’s homes drawn from across the country.

The Hope for Euro Association, a European based organisation running sports for children at UEFA level, extended the invitation to the local consultancy company having followed last year’s festival with keen interest.

Andrzej Lisiak, a representative of the Hope for Euro Association, wrote to Kutting Edge last month extending the invitation.

“The 2013 World Cup of Children from Care Homes will be held on June 15 and 16 at Pepsi Arena in Warsaw/ Poland a stadium hosted by multiple Polish Champion Legia Warszawa Football Club,” read part of the letter.

Meanwhile, Maimba Mapuranga, the managing consultant with Kutting Edge, said the invitation is clear testimony of Zimbabwe’s ability to organise sports events.

“It’s also a wonderful opportunity in terms of networking and who knows, maybe one day Zimbabwe will end up hosting the next World Cup. We are however, calling for corporate support in terms of funding for the tickets because everything else will be catered for once we get in Poland.”
