Tripple B finally win

HARARE - Castle Premiership debutants Tripple B registered their first win of the season by beating Shabanie Mine at Dulibadzimu Stadium yesterday.

Tripple B, who had not won in three matches this season, found back of the net through Givemore Fireyi, Aleck Marime and Amani Makiwa.

The Chinda Boys started the match as the brighter side creating the better of the chances with midfielders Fungai Chirindo and Velentaine Ndaba looking lively.

But it was the home side, who would open the scoring in the 12th minute, when Marime sent in a curling corner which was headed in by Fireyi,

Moments after the goal, Shabanie should have equalised but Munyaradzi Kunyarimwe, who scored the asbestos miners equaliser in midweek against Dynamos, was let down by his team mates as they failed to connect to a number off his dangerous crosses from the left.

After the break, the home side increased the scoring in the 57th minute through Marime, who capitalised on a mistake by Shabanie goalkeeper Roy Mazingi.

The home side completed the rout in the 84th minute when Makiwa, who had come in for Philip Makanje, tapped in a cross from inside the box.

Tripple B assistant coach Peter Manoti coach was a happy man after the final whistle.

“I knew this game was going to be a breakthrough for us and It is going to be a motivation for us,” he said.

Shabanie coach Arnold Jani said: “The strikers were did not take their chances. Also the defenders did not play well they exposed the goal keeper.”
