Pastor 'sexually molests' married woman

HARARE - A pastor with the House of Worship Church has been arraigned before the courts on charges of aggravated indecent assault of one of his church members.

Godfrey Badza (39) was remanded to April on $50 bail and also ordered not to apply for a travel document before his case was resolved.

The court heard that on March 20, Badza went to the 19-year-old woman’s house as he had heard that she was having problems with her husband.

The woman and her husband agreed to go for counselling to one Amai Ndlovu who is an elder at the church.
After the counselling session, Badza allegedly picked up the woman from Amai Ndlovu’s house and they both agreed to go to a secluded and calm place to discuss.

It is the State’s case that the two drove along Simon Mazorodze Road and parked near a bushy path after the Boka tobacco auction floors before Badza locked all the windows and doors of the car.

Prosecutor Melia Urayayi alleges that the woman told Badza that her husband was not satisfying her in the bedroom and the pastor suggested that she look for a boyfriend to do the job.

Allegations are that Badza started fondling the woman and went on to lift her skirt and inserted his fingers into her private parts.

Badza then allegedly told her to feel his manhood after which he then told her that she should not tell anyone about what happened.

When she got home, she told her husband and they went to the woman’s father who then made a police report. - Helen Kadirire
