Bev, Shinso date Super Label

HARARE - Dancehall music act Shinsoman is one man receiving radio attention from all three stations propelling his status within the genre.

Romeo Anthony aka Shinsoman’s popularity will be put on test as he shares the stage with popular dance diva, Beverly Sibanda aka Bev at Harare’s Super Label tomorrow (Thursday).

Bev has made her name at City Sports Bar and for the dance queen these are her usual hunting grounds and she knows the territory. Together with her dancing Angels, Bev has set the dance circuit alight throughout the country; from Chiredzi, Gweru to Bulawayo.

Men of all sizes are known to pack her sexually explosive dance showcases at the envy of haters from all corners who accuse the dance queen of overdoing it.

Tomorrow’s date with Shinsoman will bring down the club’s night and prove once again that dance can complement music.

The dancehall rising star is sure to be on fire considering that his debut album entitled Mudhara Kubva Kudhara is causing quite some stir on the airwaves.

The 17-track dancehall album carries what have become anthems in songs Kereke featuring Extra Large, Number One featuring Cindy. Another of his popular song doing the rounds on radio is African Wine.

Shinsoman’s manager Joe Machingura said he discovered the 24-year-old musician during the 2007 CBZ A Academy talent show.

“In terms of talent he is the best dancehall artist. Don’t quote me wrong, talent — not popularity, he is better than Winky Dee,” said Machingura in an earlier interview with the Daily News arts writer Sharon Muguwu.

Shinsoman broke into the limelight back in 2009 with the single track Number One in which he features diva Cindy Munyavi. Two years later he released a single album titled Mudhara Kubva Kudhara. - Entertainment Writer
