ZC revises Bangladesh tour itinerary

HARARE - Zimbabwe Cricket has revised the itinerary for next month’s home series against Bangladesh, opting to begin the tour with the two Test matches as opposed to limited overs.

The series comprising two Tests, three One Day Internationals and two Twenty20 games is now scheduled to begin on April 17 with the first five-day game at Harare Sports Club.

The second and final Test match is pencilled between April 25 and 29 at the same venue.

Bangladesh will now arrive in the country for the month-long series on April 10, a day later than their original date of arrival, giving them just under a week to prepare for the opening Test.

As per the initial arrangement, all limited-over matches will be played at Bulawayo’s Queens Sports Club.

The ODI series will set the Bulawayo leg of the tour rolling between May 3 to 8 before the two T20s conclude the series on May 11 and 12 at Queens.

Meanwhile, assistant coach Steve Mangongo is set to take charge of the team on caretaker basis with newly-appointed head coach Andy Waller taking over the reins afterwards.
