Rhinos add eight to their squad

HARARE - Castle Premiership returnees Black Rhinos have acquired seven new players from Northern Region Soccer League (NRSL) division one teams as the army side seek to bolster their squad ahead of the 2013 season.

Chauya Chipembere have also signed four DStv players in the form of defender Bruce Homora, midfielders Milton Kureva and Ndabazile Ndlovu as well as striker Brian Muzondiwa.

The four had a decent season last year, leading DStv to a top five finish on the final standings with Muzondiwa scoring seven goals in the process.

The DC Academy trio of Marshal Mudewe and Hebert Rusawo also joined Rhinos with Twalumba’s Jameson Mukobwe heading the same direction.

Rhinos have also completed the signing of Wonder Kapinda from Premiership side Monomotapa.

Black Rhinos coach Nesbert ‘Yabo’ Saruchera confirmed the development yesterday.

“We have experienced players already so we are looking at blending them with these youngsters,” Saruchera told Daily News.

“We want to keep our position in the league and maybe we can take it from there in the years to come. We want to avoid a situation where we find ourselves relegated again.

“We want to assemble a competitive side that can compete with the best in the Premiership. We believe we have signed some of the most talented players and we have monitoring them for some time.”

The army side last played in the Premiership back in 2008 when Droment Chirova guided the team into the top-flight league. - Godknows Matarutse
