Magacha to spruce up stage act

HARARE - Renowned gospel singer Sebastian Magacha has decided to jazz up his stage act by introducing more dances.

The lively artiste has already engaged an unnamed dance company to improve his dance and choreography skills.

“I want to take dancing in a more serious and professional way. That is why I have decided to take dancing lessons from dance experts,” said Magacha.

The Bhosvo singer added that he has also been receiving private lessons from his recently-wedded wife Nomsa Ndikumwe.

“My wife is a very good dancer, she taught me how to dance before I started attending professional dance, she has been very helpful,” he said.

Magacha was quick to explain that his desire to spruce his stage performances did not mean a departure from his strong Christian values.

“The Bible says David danced for the Lord. That is why I am very determined to also dance a lot for the Lord.

“There is no problem with dancing for God, the problem comes when people start dancing in irrational ways,” he said.

The 28-year-old singer entered the Zimbabwean music scene in 2004 when he started off as a backing vocalist for different gospel musicians including Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave.

The former CAPS United Football Club junior player has produced four albums to date.

His discography includes Tinaye, Faithful God, Tomudana, Baba Tinokutendai and his latest offering Mapostori which he released last year. - Kaleen Gombera
