Fynn out of Rvta Nwa-Pukke tourney

HARARE - Zimbabwean Mark Fynn crashed out of the ongoing Rvta Nwa-Pukke International Futures tennis tournament after a second round defeat to Kuwait’s Abdullah Mqdas in Potchefstroom, South Africa, on Wednesday.

Zimbabwe’s hopes of salvaging something out of the tournament effectively evaporated after Fynn went down to Mqdas 7-5 6-3 while the second Zimbabwean in the tournament, top seed Takanyi Garanganga, made an early exit from the tournament after he went down to Oran Reznik of Israel in the first round.

After cruising in the first round, defeating Anru Fouri of South Africa in straight sets, a match against Maqdas was anticipated to be one of those routine wins by Fynn.

Zimbabwe also disappointed at last week’s South Africa (TSA) NWU-Pukke International Futures tournament after Valery Bhunu crashed out in the women doubles at the quarterfinal stage while Garanganga bowed out of tournament after a shock quarterfinal defeat to Elie Rousset of France.
