ICT achievers awards on tonight

HARARE - The Ministry of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) will today host its annual ICT Achievers Awards in what promises to be a star-studded event.

A total of 17 winners are sure to walk away with various prizes at the presentation set for Cresta Lodge in Msasa, starting at 1800 hrs.

“This is an award ceremony to honour and celebrate ICT innovation, excellence and creativity.

“We have been having this event for the past three years and we are expecting a huge turnout in terms of the important players in the sector,” said Nelson Chamisa the ICT minister.

This year’s categories include the award for Top ICT company of the year, ICT project of the year (private and public sector), the Top ICT improved company, Top ICT supportive bank of the year, Top Public Sector Website of the year, Top web developer of the year (company and individual), Top innovative company of the year and the Top ICT journalist of the year being the highlights.

Although the minister could not be brought to disclose what the prizes are, he promised fireworks as new promoters have come on board.
