Zaka West legislator sent bullets

MASVINGO - A legislator in Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s MDC claims he has been sent two bullets at his workplace.

Zaka West MP, Festus Dumbu, said that the bullets were from an AK-47 assault rifle.

The legislator, who is also a sports development administrator at Triangle Limited in the Lowveld, said he now feared for his life.

“We discovered the bullets in the morning while I was parking my vehicle at my parking lot,” he said.

“I strongly suspect that this is a political message and threat from Zanu PF.

“As I speak, I am afraid of losing my life, I am actually living in fear because the bullets to me are a message that I can be shot any time.”

Dumbu said he made a report at Triangle Police Station.

Police in Masvingo declined to comment.

Dumbu said he has taken the matter up.

“I have also approached Jomic over the issue while I wait for the completion of police investigations,” he said.

“But I am very scared and afraid that any minute can be my last judging by the history of our security sector when dealing with their party rivals.” - Godfrey Mtimba
