Muhoni continues fine form

HARARE - Nothern Region Soccer League (NRSL) Division One League top goal scorer Lazurus Muhoni on Saturday scored his 14th goal of the season to help Black Rhinos beat Blue Jets 2-1 in another huge step towards gaining Castle Premiership promotion.

Clarence Zimbawo weighed in with the other goal as the army side continued their relentless march towards reclaiming their PSL status with their 18th win from 26 games.

With Power Master faltering 1-0 to ZPC in another NRL fixture, Rhinos have now opened up a 12 point lead at the top of the NRSL.

The Nesbert Saruchera-coached side will hope to carry on their good form to wrap up the NRL title before season end.

Elsewhere, Scotia beat Eiffel Flats 2-1 at Provisional Chibuku to take they tally to 29 points from 26 games, whilst the result saw Eiffel flats remain in 14th place with 25 points.

At the bottom of the log, there was further misery for Aces Youth Academy after they fell 2-0 to JMC.

It was Aces Youth Academy’s 18th defeat of the season and the side rightfully occupies anchors the log with 14 points from 26 games.

DStv Rangers emerged the biggest winners of the weekend after thrashing former PSL side Mwana Africa 5-0.
