Success in Stilettos seminar on tomorrow

HARARE - Success In Stilettos (SiS), a purely feminine initiative which is a brainchild of seasoned journalist and columnist Maggie Mzumara will be held tomorrow at the Emily Bronte Hotel in Harare.

SiS are leadership and success seminars targeting women keen on personal, professional and business development.

The seminars are offered quarterly and empower target women by providing a platform for experience sharing, skills transfer, skills sharing, career support, leadership training and others.

“The main objective for SiS seminars is to create a space where female-to-female support, mentoring and networking can be engendered.

“It is about experience sharing, skills transfer and knowledge and information exchange for women by women and with women as they develop their capacities and affirm each other,” said Mzumara.

“Whether she is already in leadership or business, or aspires to be, the SiS woman is upwardly mobile — wants to get ahead and achieve the most she can. SiS seminars are about achieving success and leadership through learning from tried and tested strategies and tactics used by those who have already trailed paths of leadership in various sectors,” she said.

Speakers at the event will be Shingi Munyeza CEO Africa Sun Hotel Group, Faith Ntabeni Bhebe founder and managing consultant — Enhancement Consultancy, Lillian Mbayiwa group marketing executive — Old Mutual, Zachary Wazara CEO — SpiritAge Group, Gabriel Chipara executive director — Mantis Group of Companies, Lydia Jokonya executive director — SMI and Florence Chaurura, Corporate Trainer.

The first seminar was held in Harare mid this year with powerful women such as Priscilla Misihairabwi-Mushonga, Isabel Nyarota of Old Mutual who spoke on the importance of investments and businesswoman of the year, Nancy Guzha.

The word “stilettos” is used for these seminars as a symbol of female elevation.

Just like a woman in stilettos will be elevated, high up there and on top of things, balancing, swaying and juggling to manage the height, speed and distance she travels and covers so too does a woman in leadership juggling her many roles and responsibilities in efforts to achieve and cover some ground in successes in her personal, professional and or business life.

The core belief behind SiS seminars is that women leadership brings about unique dimensions necessary in today’s world; and that women can help each other bring out the best of this to their own advantage as they build their families, businesses, communities and the economy.
