Chicago rappers date Shoko today

HARARE - The main attraction for the Hip Hop explosion at Shoko Festival 2012 will be Mic Crenshaw from the United States of America.

Mic Crenshaw one of Chicago’s most revered rappers collaborates with one of Zimbabwe’s most iconic voices BaShupi at the king pin main stage at Alliance Francaise.

In 2009, Mic released his debut solo CD Thinking Out Loud which spent 10 weeks on CMJ’S National and International acts including Dead Prez, Immortal Technique, the legendary Fugees, Ice Cube, WuTang Clan and many others.

Bashupi, who  needs no introduction to his local fans due to a string of hits recently he is also set to support P-Square at the October Beer Fest next month.

This collaboration will move to the Peace in the Hood stage in the Glen Norah B stage where the final epic concert will be happening.

The Shoko Festival will run over six days and will also feature live concerts, DJ parties, photo exhibitions, workshops, debates a comedy night and much more.

The theme this year is “Take Over The Town” as Shoko spreads across the city into the suburbs and the townships. - Staff Writer
