Bantu in tricky fixture against New West

BULAWAYO - Southern Region Division One League action enters Week 24 this weekend with log leaders Bantu Rovers facing a tricky encounter against city rivals New West on Saturday at Luveve Stadium.

New West is currently enjoying a good run of form and occupies fourth position on the log with 42 points from 23 games.

The Lobengula-based side trail the log leaders by six points and will be out to edge closer to the leading pack that also has second placed ZPC Hwange, who are on 47 points and third-placed How Mine, who sit on 46 points.

ZPC Hwange visit Bulawayo for the second time in three weeks for a clash with seventh placed Black Boots while How Mine will play host to struggling Makhandeni who sit second from bottom with a mere 10 points.

Former Premiership side Zimbabwe Saints will be hoping to pick up maximum points and move away from the relegation zone when they face fellow strugglers Sizani Fruit at White City on Saturday.

A 10 point gap separates the two sides with 13th placed Chikwata on 25 points from 23 games while Sizani are on 15 points from 22 games.
