Zobha to entertain rural fans

HARARE - Popular radio personality “Dr Zobha” is expected to thrill fans at Chikumbamarara in Seke tomorrow.

The DJ will entertain patrons at H and J nite club while an all-female dance group — the Blue Virgins will dance to his music selection.

Chikumbamarara is a leisure spot located in Seke rural area and it is complimenting other entertainment joints such as Warren Park’s Mereki, Ziko in Seke, KwaFatso in Glen Norah, Malvern shops (kwaZindoga) among others.

Since entertainment lovers now prefer driving further afield in search of “real entertainment” — the place is increasingly becoming popular owing to its serene rural environment.

The place is located on the three-kilometre peg from Ziko shops in Seke and six kilometres from Makoni shopping centre in Chitungwiza.

It lies between Ziko and Dema growth point.

Meanwhile South Africa’s award-winning gospel artiste Solly Mahlangu is expected to jet in the country today for two concerts in the capital.

The diva comes on the invitation of the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) Marlbereign’s Shiloh Word Miracle Centre Assembly.

Mahlangu is expected to bring down the holy spirit at the fourth edition of the Open Heavens Crusade.
The crusade will be held at the AFM centre in Marlbereign before the Harare International Conference Centre tomorrow and the show will run from 3 to 9 pm.

Alick “Extra Basso” Macheso is doing what he knows best on stage at Traveller Bar in Dzivaresekwa in Harare tonight.

He will showcase his extensive bass guitar playing skills at Rudhaka stadium in the small farming town of Marondera on Saturday.

The Orchestra Mberikwazvo front-man is expected to offer nothing but a sizzling act on Sunday in the scenic Harare Gardens where he is expected to share the stage with Progress Chipfumo.

William Tsandukwa the Orchestra Mberikwazvo band manager told the Daily News that the band has decided to tour the country with Chipfumo.

“We weaned the Sounds of the Muddy Face band for us to ‘breast feed’ Chipfumo.

“Chipfumo implored us for assistance since he is not feeling well so he will perform as an opening act to Macheso,” said Tsandukwa.

Tsandukwa said there are a number of struggling bands that are approaching the band for assistance and the band is helping one band at a time.

“We started performing with Tryson Chimbetu as our curtain raisers, we then engaged, Sounds of the Muddy Face and now we have decided to take on Chipfumo provided anobatsirika,” he said.

Jah Prayzah, a contemporary reggae musician, real name Mukudzei Mukombe who has lined up his maiden United Kingdom concerts, is performing in Ruwa at Mavambo Beer Hall tonight.

Tomorrow the Sungano hit maker will be entertaining rural folks in Gokwe at Puza Dollar nite club before dating Marawu bar at Empress mine near Kwekwe on Sunday.

Comedian-cum-musician Freddy Manjalima aka Kapfupi is performing at Arcturus Mine tonight.

On Saturday Kapfupi and his Orchestra Ndoozvo are expected to put Kushinga Phikelela College in Marondera on fire.

Kireni Zulu the King of Marabi music is performing in Kadoma tomorrow at Cequers entertainment joint.

Cave Affair in Domboshava will host two groups tomorrow — Angelica Sisters and Snippers Jazz band.

On Sunday the Domboshava joint which offers amazing sunset views from the huge dwala will host Harare-based music outfit the Summer Breeze.

Leonard Zhakata is returning to Budiriro’s New Life nite club formerly Club Lashers tonight.
