ZB edge closer to Bankers League title
Tuesday, 25 September 2012 13:05
HARARE - Bankers Soccer League log leaders ZB are just a point away from securing their first title after they collected maximum points against Stanbic on Sunday following a walkover.

ZB added three points to their tally after Stanbic failed to pitch up for the match despite being the home team.

The pacesetters, who have now amassed 42 points from 19 games, five points adrift of closest rivals FBC, go into the final round of the Bankers League only needing a draw to be crowned champions.

They face second from bottom Stanchart this weekend.

Defending champions FBC virtually threw their slim chances of gate-crashing the title party out when they were shocked to a 2-1 defeat by TN to surrender their title.

Elsewhere, fourth-placed Kingdom beat NMB 1-0.
