‘My heart bleeds for CAPS United’
Sunday, 16 December 2012 14:24
HARARE - Former CAPS United captain Limited Chikafa has expressed his desire to return to the Green Machine as long as the club is interested in rehiring him.

Chikafa was a member of Charles Mhlauri’s all-conquering Makepekepe side which won back-to-back Zimbabwean titles in 2004 and 2005.

The 31-year-old striker, who won a number of awards with CAPS still has love for his former team with whom he parted ways unceremoniously in 2009 after he fell out with club management.

“I would absolutely like to come back, there is no question about that,” Chikafa told the Daily News on Sunday.

“This season is over but I pray CAPS will do well next season and give a good fight for the championship.”
During his days at Makepekepe, Chikafa was a brilliant striker who rose through the ranks to become the club skipper.

“I made a name for myself while playing for CAPS and after seeing how bad the club struggled, I believe I have a lot to offer to the club,” he said.

“I know CAPS can do much better and my hope is that Twine Phiri and Farai Jere work out their differences and win the championship.

“Maybe I do not know much about the current players, but our squad used to work with a purpose. Our main purpose was to win points and that pushed us to get positive results. Of course we also aimed to get winning bonuses.”

The former Railstars striker, who joined Shooting Stars after being fired at CAPS, is now playing for Eastern Region Division One Soccer League side Setheo United. - Blessings Mashaya
