HARARE - Former Zimbabwe and Dynamos goalkeeper Gift "Umbro" Muzadzi has completed his switch to the newly promoted Castle Premiership side Triangle.

Muzadzi, who has been at Northern Region Division One side Twalumba, signed a one and half-year contract with Triangle yesterday and will double-up as the club’s assistant coach and goalkeepers’ trainer.

The club’s secretary general Alex Khumbula confirmed the development yesterday.

“Muzadzi is now one of our assistants and we are hoping his vast experience in the game will help the club scale dizzy heights,” Khumbula told Daily News.

“We are however not in a hurry for results but we are expecting these guys to build a team that can last in the Premiership.”

Triangle shrugged off stern challenge from rivals Hippo Valley to win their Division One League title with three games to spare, becoming the first Lowveld side in 42 years to play top flight football in Zimbabwe.

Triangle have been active on the transfer market, offering attractive deals to lure players from other established premiership clubs.

The Lowveld side have already acquired the services of former CAPS United striker Limited Chikafa as well as the Gunners pair of Pardon Togara and Willard Gondo.

Blessing Chimwamuchere, Ashley Rayners, Daniel Kamunhenga and a 16-year old ace from Chipinge High School, Walter Magiya, have also joined the club.

Triangle have been toiling in the lower divisions since the country’s Independence in 1980.

The Lowveld club was one of the pioneers of the Southern Region Division One league in the early 80’s before being drafted into the Eastern Region in 2001. -
