HARARE - 2012 Soccer Star of the Year finalist Ronald Chitiyo weighed in with a goal that proved decisive as Monomotapa edged Buffaloes on the last day of the Castle Premiership season yesterday.

Chitiyo collected the ball at the edge of the box before dribbling past the Buffaloes backline and slotting past Buffaloes’ Thandadzai Chengetai.

The result saw Monoz sneak past Chicken Inn into third place with 51 points whilst PSL newcomers Buffaloes end their season on number six with 44 points.

Buffaloes assistant coach Sicho Masachi conceded his side were let down by their failure to convert chances.

“We had set an objective of finishing eighth. So we are chuffed we have done even better,” said Masachi.
Monoz coach Biggie Zuze commended his players for picking themselves up after a string of poor results to finish in third place.

“It’s a good position for us. I mean, we lost points when we shouldn’t have but we picked ourselves up,” Zuze said.
