BULAWAYO - The Southern Region Division One championship race continues to be a ding-dong affair with ZPC Hwange wresting the top spot from How Mine after the gold miners suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to lowly Sizane at the weekend.
Edgar Chinjekure struck the killer blow for the fruit and vegetable peddlers who are destined for a quick return to the second division after failing to stand the heat in the first division.
ZPC assumed the leadership spot after dismissing former Premiership side Zimbabwe Saints 3-2 to move to 57 points from 29 games.
Former pacesetters Bantu Rovers are in second position after their 2-1 victory over fourth-placed police outfit Black Boots.
Aaron “Ninja” Nyarubira and Fortune “Fokoza” Nkala were on target for Bantu who trail ZPC by a single point and have played one game less than the log leaders.
Black Boots got their consolation from Tashinga Mungadze.
