Kaindu targets 3 points
Sunday, 28 April 2013 13:32
HARARE - Highlanders head coach Kelvin Kaindu is targeting maximum points when his charges date army outfit Black Rhinos this afternoon at Barbourfields Stadium.

The Zambian coach told the Daily News on Sunday that his side will be almost at full strength after the return to fitness of vice captain Eric Mudzingwa.

“Our preparations have progressed smoothly and we have most of our players are available for selection,” Kaindu said.

“Eric is back in training and the only player absent is Masimba (Mambare), who is with the national team, and I am confident that we will get a good result at the end of the day.”

The return of Mudzingwa is likely to give Kaindu a lot of options since he can also play as a midfielder if the Zambian gaffer chooses not to interfere with the central defensive pairing of captain Innocent Mapuranga and the ever improving Dumisani ‘Fazo’ Ndlovu.

Bosso have failed to collect maximum points in their last two league encounters after suffering a shock 0-1 home defeat to Motor Action a fortnight ago and then playing out a one – all draw in controversial circumstances with defending champions Dynamos last weekend.

Kaindu believes his players have gotten past the disappointment of being denied a full set of points by a very late Partson  Jaure equaliser last Sunday.

“I hope we will carry on from where we left from last week and all we have to do is to guard against complacency because it would be folly to under estimate Black Rhinos just because they are from the first division,” Kaindu added.

Bosso fans will be pinning their hopes on regular goal scorer Njabulo Ncube who has banged three goals so far this season.

Highlanders have collected 10 points from five matches and trail log leaders FC Platinum by five points while Rhinos are in the lower half of the table with six points from five outings. - Sakheleni Nxumalo
