HARARE - Week 25 of the Castle Premiership shifts into higher gear this weekend with Supersport set to screen three matches from Rufaro Stadium.

The broadcasts are a continuation of a series of trial runs ahead of the commencement of the five-year deal between the broadcasting giant and Zimbabwe’s top flight league, which begins in earnest next season.

Inform Harare City, who take on relegation threatened Blue Rangers at Rufaro on Friday, will get the ball rolling with vast parts of sub-Saharan Africa expected to witness that match in the comfort of their homes courtesy of SuperSport.

Rangers, who are precariously third from bottom, will be hoping to get one over the Sunshine Boys to keep their hopes of surviving the chop alive.

Mid-table campaigners Motor Action and FC Platinum who square off the following day at Rufaro, will also be live on the World of Champions.

CAPS United, who were held to a frustrating draw by bottom-placed Quelaton in match described by coach Taurai Mangwiro as “two points lost than a point gained” will play on-song Monomotapa in what promises to be a thrilling encounter on Sunday at the same venue.

“We will have four or even more matches that will broadcast on SuperSport. We are just finalising dates and other logistics,” PSL chief executive Kenny Ndebele told the Daily News yesterday.

Ndebele said the two parties were encouraged by their first broadcast between Dynamos and Quelaton last month, but were still ironing out fundamental issues.

Starting next season, SuperSport will air over 20 weekends of PSL action.
