HARARE - The culpable homicide trial of former Zimbabwe football captain Peter Ndlovu has been deferred to April 9 to allow the defence counsel sufficient time to study the forensic audit report.

Ndlovu, 39, is facing two counts of culpable homicide for allegedly causing the death of his elder brother Adam and a female companion Nomqhele Tshili near Lupinyu Business
Centre along Victoria Falls Road in December.

Peter was driving his BMW X5 when it veered off the road after one of its front tyres burst, ploughing into three huge trees and killing Adam and Tshili on the spot.

The most-capped Zimbabwean player of all time, who was left battling for his life and is now on the path to full recovery, is expected to travel to Egypt with the national side today in his capacity as assistant coach.

“The case has been moved to the ninth of April,” Ndlovu’s lawyer Harrison Nkomo told the Daily News yesterday.

“This is because the state had not given us enough time to consider the forensic audit report.” - Sports Writer
