HARARE - The National Rugby League enters into round 14 today with all games being played at Old Hararians Sports Club in the capital.

Today’s matches at OH marks the final round of matches before play-offs as the title race hits up.

Title contenders Harare Sports Club, who are sitting pretty at the summit of the log, 10 points clear of second-placed Matabeleland Warriors face Gweru Sports Club in a game on both teams will be playing for pride.

Sports Club have already secured first place and a home semi final.

Winless and relegation-bound Airforce face former Bulawayo glamour club Old Miltonians hoping to salvage some pride in what has been a miserable season in which the Manyame-based outfit broke records for the biggest defeats in the league and the longest losing streak.

Meanwhile, defending champions Old Georgians’ title defence will face a big test after failing to secure a home semi-final.

OGs are currently in fourth place on the log with 46 points and a win over Bulawayo high-density outfit Western Panthers with a bonus point will only take their tally to 51 points, which can be easily surpassed by an Old Hararians or Matabeleland Warriors win, who clash later in the day.

Former champions OH and Warriors have all to play for today.

A win by either side will guarantee second spot on the final standings and a home semi-final.

The Warriors have lost their momentum lately.

The departure of versatile scrumhalf Terence Kuvarega for Australia has left a huge void in the team. They have also lacked creativity in the backline.

But the Bulawayo giants can still spring a surprise if they pay a disciplined game.

OH will be hoping their hard-running eighthman Takunda Chifokoyo will come good this afternoon as he attacks the gain line a lot and can be a menace to the opposition.

FIXTURES

Gweru Sports Club v Harare Sports Club(11:30 am), Airfoce v Old Miltonians (1pm), Old Georgians v Panthers (2:30pm), Old Hararians v Matabeleland Warriors (4pm).
