Hardbody defeat Quelaton
Monday, 03 September 2012 09:23
HARARE - Godfrey Tamirepi recorded his first victory at home after guiding Hardbody to a 1-0 win over Quelaton in a battle of strugglers at Ascot Stadium yesterday.

Hardbody had last won at home on May 6 when they beat Chicken Inn, albeit in controversial circumstances, when referee of the day Masakadza Makonese credited Calisto Maheya with a goal that did not cross the line.

The Gweru side then went on a winless streak at home and the last time they scored at home was when they drew 1-1 with Harare City back in May.

Jacob Muzokomba, who made his return to the local Premiership during the June transfer window after a stint in Swaziland with Manzini Sundowns, got the all-important goal in the 36th minute when he tapped in a low cross from Owen Motsi.

Motsi won possession in his own half and ran the length of the pitch before whipping a cross that Malvern Nyakabangwe miscued on to the path of Muzokomba, who did justice by tapping into an open net past Quelaton keeper Tapiwanashe Marime.

“We lost the match in the midfield where we allowed them to dominate,” said Quelaton coach Farai Sibanda.
