Motor Action hold trials
Saturday, 12 January 2013 10:40
HARARE - Former champions Motor Action will hold trials next week in a bid to bolster their squad following an indifferent season last year.

The Mighty Bulls found the going tough in the 2012 season as they settled for a disappointing eighth place on the final Castle Premiership standings, trailing eventual league champions Dynamos by 28 points.

Motor Action struggled with their game after losing some of their influential players like Masimba Mambare and Bheki Ncube, who both crossed the floor to join Bulawayo giants Highlanders while Allen Gahadzikwa moved to fellow Premiership side FC Platinum.

Joey Antipas’ side has already lost defender Morris Kadzola to Dynamos and midfielder James Jem, who has reportedly joined Harare City.

“We are yet to sign any player and we will have more information concerning the club when we begin our pre-season preparations on the 21st of this month,” said club director Eric Rosen.

The Mighty Bulls are now looking at building a side capable of fighting for honours in the upcoming season.

The 2010 Zimbabwe champions also received a huge boost after their coach Antipas got away with a wholly suspended five-year sentence, making him eligible to continue with his football career after being implicated in the Asiagate match-fixing scandal. - Godknows Matarutse
