Bulls register second win
Monday, 06 May 2013 11:13
HARARE - Motor Action recovered from their midweek defeat to How Mine to register their second win of the season after defeating Black Mambas here yesterday.

The Mighty Bulls started their season on a dull note; collecting eight points from eight matches with their only win coming in the 1-0 victory over Highlanders last month in Bulawayo.

Yesterday, the Might Bulls found the net through Clement Matawu and Misheck Mburayi to hand Black Mambas their third defeat on the trot.

The home side went into the lead after two minutes through Matawu’s long range shot after he capitalised on a defensive lapse from the police side.

Kasimero Chimbadzwa could have found the equaliser for Warumwa Warumwa after 23 minutes but he had his effort from a Convinience Hungwe cross saved by Bulls goalie Marlon Jani.

The Mighty Bulls increased their lead in the second half when Passmore Bernard whipped in a pin point cross which found an unmarked Mburayi after 69 minutes.

The former Bosso striker had an easy task of heading past Mambas goalkeeper Tonderayi Mateyaunga.

The Mambas players protested heavily at referee Robert Mugorosa that Mburayi was in an off-side position but the goal was allowed to stand.

Mambas had many chances to get a point from yesterday’s match but they were let down by their poor finishing.

On the few occasions they got their shots on target they were denied by the Bulls captain Jani.

After the match Black Mambas coach John Ncube said: “The second goal was an offside however the boys played very well but we need work harder to collect maximum points in each game.”

Motor Action assistant coach David George was pleased with the result.

“Today (yesterday) we played well and for me it is a good day in office but we need to continue with this performance,” said George. - Blessings Mashaya
