Benjani impresses at Supersport
Saturday, 08 September 2012 13:14
JOHANNESBURG - Former Portsmouth striker, Benjani Mwaruwari, is looking impressive at training with SuperSport United.
A source within the Matsatsantsa camp revealed to the Siya crew that the Zimbabwean has started training with the squad and is looking good.

The former Zimbabwe international is on trial with the Tshwane-based side where he is being assessed by coach Gavin Hunt and his technical team, as he attempts to end his career in the PSL after spending over a decade in Europe.

“Mwaruwari is training with us. That guy is a true professional. He is good in what he does and he knows his stuff. He is in the category of players like (Sibusiso) Zuma in my opinion. He has got strength and his first touch is good,” said the source.

The 34-year-old has been linked with a return to the PSL since last year, although nothing has materialised to date.

Having recently trained with his former club, Jomo Cosmos, Mwaruwari will now be hoping to land a deal with the defending Nedbank Cup champions.

Should the former Manchester City man secure a move to the club, he would form a formidable partnership with Nathan Paulse. — Soca Laduma
