DeMbare unfazed by Bosso’s form
Wednesday, 29 August 2012 11:27
HARARE - Defending Zimbabwe champions Dynamos, who take on FC Platinum tomorrow at Rufaro Stadium, have refused to be cowed by log leaders Highlanders’ unbeaten run in the Castle Lager Premiership.

Bouyed by their effortless 3-0 thrashing of bitter rivals CAPS United at the National Sports Stadium in the Harare derby on Sunday, Dynamos assistant coach Tonderai Ndiraya said his team was not in awe of the Bulawayo giants’ form.

“We do not want to look at what Highlanders are doing,” Ndiraya told reporters after Sunday’s match.

“We want to concentrate on ourselves. We want to take one game at a time. We are determined to retain our title come end of season.”

DeMbare, who still have two games in hand are now in second place on the log with 37 points, six behind Bosso.

The Bulawayo giants showed their title-winning pedigree by getting a hard-fought point from a very difficult game against Harare City at the weekend.

Tomorrow, Dynamos play one of the outstanding matches when they host FC Platinum at Rufaro Stadium and Ndiraya is optimistic the Glamour Boys will complete a double over the Zvishavane-based side.

Dynamos have already beaten FC Platinum 2-1 in the reverse fixture at Mandava Stadium on August 4.

“We hope it will be another good game. We are hopeful we will have a good game against Platinum.”

The DeMbare assistant coach hopes rookie striker Farai Mupasiri, who scored the first goal against CAPS, will continue with his rich goal-scoring vein that has yielded four goals in six games.

The former Zimbabwe rugby youth international has partnered last year’s Golden Boot winner Rodreck Mutuma in the Dynamos attack in the last few games.

“Farai is still young. He has only played a few games. We hope he will put his head down and continue to work hard. He is proving to be our main striker. We hope to continue with Farai because the combination is bearing fruit,” he said.
