Mkhuphali’s modest ambitions

HARARE - CAPS United’s hopes of reviving old glory in the upcoming new season may remain a pipe dream if pre-season preparations are anything to go by.

Whilst many CAPS United supporters have been hoping that 2013 will be their year of restoration, it may well yet prove to be otherwise.

Makepekepe stand-in coach Mkhuphali Masuku yesterday told reporters, the club would be vying for a modest “top eight finish this season,” a far cry from the lofty heights attained by United’s yesteryear teams.

According to Masuku, the team is “yet to sign” any new players, casting doubt over the club’s seriousness to turn around its fortunes.

Since the once-revered Cup Kings began pre-season training at the National Sports Stadium on Wednesday, it has been the old guard of players that have failed at other clubs who have dominated their training sessions.
