Hwange pursue Dynamos case

HARARE - Hwange Football Club secretary Burzil Dube was dispatched to the capital on Tuesday to pursue the club’s fight against the Zifa Appeals Committee’s decision to reinstate Dynamos’ 4-2 victory over the coalminers.

The Zifa Appeals Committee’s decision effectively quashed the decision by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Disciplinary Committee, which had nullified DeMbare’s victory and ordered a replay at a neutral venue.

The PSL appeals committee’s decision was a penalty for the alleged assault of Hwange coach Nation Dube by three Dynamos marshals, which saw Chipangano take to the field in that ill-tempered match without their coach.

Hwange have since applied for the case to go for arbitration.

“I am in Harare to ensure that justice is done,” said Dube.

“We paid the necessary fees for our case to be attended to. Zifa chief executive Jonathan Mashingaidze has assured us that he will do everything to ensure that the case is resolved before the end of season.

“We have two matches left before we wind up the season so we are equally determined to have the case resolved. We are very confident that the case will be resolved to our satisfaction, and in our favour. I am scheduled to meet Mashingaidze to get more details on the arbitration process and when it will be done.”

Hwange, who represented Zimbabwe in the Caf Confederation Cup this year, are still not safe from relegation.

With two games before the end of the season, the coalminers are sixth from the bottom with 30 points, just seven points more than Hardbody, who are positioned second from bottom.

Hwange take on relegation-threatened Blue Rangers at home on November 14 before ending their 2012 season against relegated Quelaton.
