HARARE - FC Platinum yesterday returned to winning ways after they completed a double over Gunners to compound the former champions’ relegation woes.

With the result, Gunners still occupy the last relegation spot with 19 points from 23 games.

Donald Ngoma opened Platinum’s account as early as the fourth minute before Benjamin Marere extended Platinum’s lead in the 20th minute.

In the 22nd minute, Mitchell Katsvairo put the game beyond the reach of the 2009 champions with a well taken shot to beat Prosper Chigumba in goals for Gunners.

Two minutes later, Gunners pulled one back through Valentine Ndaba.

Gunners tried in vain to crawl back into the match but they met a resolute defence marshalled by centre back Daniel Vheremu.

The defeat means Gunners coach Moses Chunga is yet to win a match in his fourth spell in charge of the troubled Harare outfit.
