‘We are ready to die’
Friday, 07 December 2012 11:21
JOHANNESBURG - Willard Katsande says Kaizer Chiefs will not change their attack-minded style of play when they meet bitter rivals Orlando Pirates in a top-of-the-table clash tomorrow.

The forceful Zimbabwean player says Amakhosi will go all out to consolidate their lead on the log against a Buccaneers team that will be looking to bounce back from their 0-0 draw with Chippa United on Wednesday.

“Personally I am looking forward to the game. This will be my fourth Soweto Derby against Pirates if I am selected to play and I am aware of how important these matches are in South Africa,” said the Zimbabwean international.

“We will play our normal, offensive game. Nothing will change against Pirates because to us, all matches are important.

“As a team, our preparations have gone on well and we were all encouraged by our 3-0 win over Ajax Cape Town. We are ready for Pirates,” Katsande declares.

While Pirates will be eager to erase the narrow three-point gap between the two teams, Katsande points out that his teammates are “prepared to die on the field’ to prevent this.

“Everyone has a role to play. For me, it is important that we dominate the midfield as this will create more scoring chances for the team.” — Kick-Off
