Nothing special about PSL: Gizha
Wednesday, 23 January 2013 11:16
HARARE - The head coach of newly-promoted Triangle, Gishon “Gizha” Ntini, says he is well prepared for the challenge ahead in the Castle Premiership.

Triangle shrugged off stern challenge from rivals Hippo Valley to win their division one league title with three games to spare, becoming the first Lowveld in 42 years to play top flight football in Zimbabwe.

Ntini, who is no stranger to top flight management having previously coached CAPS United, Shooting Stars and Black Rhinos in the PSL, described Triangle as a “big team” due to its huge fan base in the Lowveld.

“We are coming into the Premiership not to make numbers but to do what we know best. There is nothing special about the Premiership and we are coming there to cause upsets,” Ntini told Daily News yesterday.

“It’s our first year in the Premiership but we have enough resources to compete at the highest level. We have been receiving positive response from the community and it’s quite encouraging. I have been there in the Premiership and there is nothing new to us because most of the guys in my team have also played at that level before.

“We started our preparations some two weeks ago and it’s looking good. Triangle is going to be a big team because they have a big fan base and I can promise you good stuff when the season opens. We are not the moneybags but we are stable enough to make our team a competitive side in the Premiership”.

Triangle have been active on the transfer market, offering attractive deals to players which prompted many to call them “the new Premiership moneybags.”

The Lowveld side have already acquired the services of former CAPS striker Limited Chikafa as well as the Gunners pair of Pardon Togara and Willard Gondo.

Blessing Chimwamuchere, Ashley Rayners, Daniel Kamunhenga and a 16-year old ace from Chipinge High School, Walter Magiya, have also joined Triangle. -
