HARARE - Golfer Micky Hough gets the ball rolling for the Zimbabwean contingent this morning at the Sun Coast Classic in Durban after he was drawn to tee off at 6:40am.

Hough has been grouped alongside South African Pieter Moolman and Jeff Inglis of England for the first round that gets underway at Durban Country Club.

The 29-year-old Zimbabwean is coming from his third place finish at the BMG Classic last week where he carded a nine-over 225.

Last week in Gauteng was the only third time Hough had made the cut this season on the Sunshine Tour.

Zimbabwe’s leading Sunshine Tour golfer, Ryan Cairns, will tee off at 12:20pm together with Andrew Curlewis and Derik Ferreira both of South Africa.

With a total of R133 050 to his name in 2012, Cairns is the highest ranked Zimbabwean on the circuit’s money list.

Last week in Gauteng, the 28-year-old Zimbabwean was not at his best as he failed to make the cut at the BMG Classic.

Cairns signed off a score-card that had two-over 146 at the end of the second round and it was not sufficient for him to progress to the final round.

Cairns will be looking for his second win on the Sunshine Tour in Durban after having won the Vodacom Origins in Simola last May.

Dean Schoultz is the third Zimbabwean pro taking part at the Sun Coast Classic and he has been paired with South African Beyers Smith.

The duo will tee off from the 10th hole at 11am.

Hough, cairns and Schoultz all arrived in Durban at the start of the week and have already played some practice rounds at the Durban Country Club.

Defending champion Darren Fichardt has been grouped together with fellow South African Warren Abery and Englishman Neil Cheetham.

Fichardt and his group tee off at 11:30 in the morning.

The 38-year-old is still to win any event this season on the Sunshine Tour.

Last year, Fichardt shot a final-round 68 to win the tournament by six strokes ahead of Ulrich van den Berg.

It was Fichardt’s 12th Sunshine Tour victory after closing the event at 13-under-par.
