HARARE - Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu reckons Bosso’s weekend draw with log-leaders Dynamos is just as good as a win in terms of the result’s significance in the title tussle between the two heavyweights of Zimbabwean football.  

Bosso had to dig deep six minutes shy of fulltime to salvage what could turn out to be a crucial point in the Castle Premiership title race.

Fullback Bruce Kangwa benefited from goalkeeper George Chigova’s terrible blunder to equalise after DeMbare striker Simba Sithole scored with a brilliant shoot-on-the-turn 12 minutes into the blockbuster tie.

The Bosso coach is convinced that a DeMbare victory would have irretrievably tilted the title in the direction of the reigning Zimbabwe champions.

“All we got after holding Dynamos was just a point, but that point is just as valuable as the full three points,” the Zambian told the Daily News yesterday.

“Had Dynamos beaten us, that would have almost extinguished our title chances. But thanks to the great character and never-say-die spirit shown by my team, we managed to get a deserved late equaliser.”

Kaindu expects this afternoon clash with Buffaloes to be a taxing one.

“Buffaloes were the first team to take points off us this season and as such, we won’t be taking them lightly. They are a difficult team to break down but I am sure we will do enough to secure the full points.

“This is the most difficult part of the season. All games will not be easy.”

Kaindu said he has an almost full squad to call on, although striker Beven Chikaka and midfielder Bruce Tshuma will only be available if they pass a late fitness test.

Meanwhile Buffaloes, who drew 1-1 with Hwange at home last weekend, have promised to make life difficult for the title aspirants.

“We also want those three points because we want to end the season in the top four,” said coach Saul Chaminuka.

“We dropped two crucial points last weekend, so we can’t meet our top four target if we keep dropping points.”

Chaminuka is confident the Mutare side will capitalise from playing a Bosso team under immense pressure to win at all costs.

“Highlanders are the ones who could wilt under the huge burden of expectation. Hopefully, we will be well-positioned to capitalise should they stumble.”
