Buffaloes, City share spoils
Monday, 24 September 2012 11:28
HARARE - Buffaloes were held to a goalless draw by visiting Harare City in an uneventful Castle Premiership match here yesterday.

The army side ran out of steam as the match progressed and looked content with a share of the spoils.

Phenias Bamusi of Buffaloes blazed his effort over in the early minutes of the match after a slick interchange of passes with Roy Mwenga and Philip Thembani.

City captain Godfrey Nguwodzawo then watched in agony as his 10th minute effort slightly missed the target.

Rusape referee Robert Mugorosa denied Nguwodzawo a goal 11 minutes later after adjudging the striker to be in an offside position.

Several missed chances then characterised the rest of the game.

“We were focused to win but the opposition were playing for a draw, just to frustrate us,” said Buffaloes assistant coach Sicho Masachi. - Sports Writer
