BULAWAYO - Southern Region Division One pacesetters Bantu Rovers have opened a three point lead at the summit of the log despite being held to a 1-1 draw by fellow contenders ZPC Hwange at the weekend.

Tshintsha Guluva took their tally to 52 points from 24 matches while ZPC remain in third position behind second placed How Mine, who came unstuck against New West.

Lobengula-based New West edged the gold miners 2-1 with their goals coming from former Highlanders player Warren Dube and Joshua “Mzambiya” Wilson.

How Mine managed to retain second position despite their defeat with 49 points from 24 games while second-placed ZPC are a point behind and have played a game more than their rivals.

Police outfit Black Boots overtook former top flight campaigners Railstars, who were inactive at the weekend.  Black Boots now occupy fifth position after their 3-0 victory over relegation bound Makhandeni. They have accrued 43 points from 24 matches.

Fallen Zimbabwean football giants Zimbabwe Saints failed to move clear of the relegation zone when they played out a 1 -1 draw with Ntabazinduna while Division One debutants Tsholotsho find themselves in the same predicament after going down 3-0 to Hwange-based Power Cosmos.
