HARARE - CAPS United have completed the signing of nine new players in a bid to turn around the club’s fortunes.

Following a season in which the Green Machine played some enterprising football but still found themselves fighting relegation, the club has roped in two strikers in search of elusive goals.

Free-scoring striker Dominic Chungwa, 24, and 20-year-old former Aces Academy striker Collins Dhuwa are the two new forwards at the club.

Chungwa is perhaps United’s biggest signing following his inspirational performances for division one side Hippo Valley, where he plundered 34-goals last season.

Dhuwa, who captained Aces Youth Academy last season, has also been tipped to shine at CAPS.

The youthful striker top-scored for Aces Youth Academy last season, but his goals could not help the famed Academy from being relegated to division two. He will however be hoping for better luck at the Harare giants.

21-year-old midfielder Terrence Gonzo also arrives at CAPS from the Waterfalls-based academy.

Makepekepe have also swopped for 18-year-old Takudzwa Mahori, a former Pamushana High School attacking midfielder.

Hard-running midfielder Gift Phiri has also been brought in from 2010 Zimbabwe champions Motor Action.

In defence, CAPS have signed centre backs Dominic Mukandi and Steven Makatuka while increasing their goalkeeping options by bringing in Jorum Muchambo and London Zulu.

Monomotapa forward Tawanda Nyamandwe has been practising with CAPS United since his contract expired with Monomotapa expired on December 31, although CAPS has not yet offered the towering striker a deal.
